Each set comes with custom tooled tweeter mounting pods, custom water shields, high performance Neodymium magnet woofers and of course our MX-5 specific custom sound modules. All necessary screws, wire ties and hardware are included as well. As always, easy to follow directions are supplied. The new MX-5 is a fabulous car and with the addition of Clearwater speakers, it becomes even more fabulous. Unique design constraints prevented conventional loudspeaker construction from being used. Entirely new tooling was made to produce the special CWC-9 high performance/low weight woofer. Special neodymium magnets were needed to keep the depth of the woofer shallow but at the same time produce deep bass. After many months of design and research, a few prototypes were completed. Select customers were chosen to field test the systems and give feedback. By using feedback and sophisticated acoustic measurement devices, a final design was created.
