Our replacement Mazda Miata carpet kits are made from OEM Quality materials and are custom made using the original Mazda Miata floor pan, providing the best quality and fit. For those items that are molded, the mildew resistant jute padding is heat bonded to the backside of the new carpet kit and a heel pad is welded to the correct location on the driver's side.

This set includes passenger areas, curtain, shelf, and donut.

Mazda Miata carpet is manufactured with two different types of backing:

Standard Poly Backing: This backing is a thin plastic coating on the back of the carpet. Usually is clear in appearance. It is less than 1/16th inch thick and very flexible. Most auto makers prior to 1999 used this type of backing. Jute insulation is pre attached with this backing choice.

Mass Rubber Upgrade Backing: This is a dense rubber mat that is attached to the back of the carpet. Actually molded with the carpet. You can identify this on your existing carpet by inspecting for a 1/8" thick black rubber on the backside of your carpet. Many late model vehicles have this backing as standard equipment from factory. It is used to replace the old type sound barrier/heat insulation for sound deadening and heat shielding. This backing also provides a water proof barrier between carpet and the floor pan resulting in less rust out problems. This product will more than double the weight of the standard carpet with standard backing. Adding this backing to your carpet will make the carpet more like a shell, holding its shape better than the standard more flexible backing resulting in a better fit and look. Please note that carpets with mass backing will also include the standard felt padding. This backing can be added as an upgrade to most of our molded carpets.
