SafeCraft Spec Miata Seat Belts
Hands down the best seat belt you can put in your Spec Miata. This belt was designed specifically to fit in the Miata and make it the most user friendly safest belt you can buy.
With most other belts, there are 2 adjusters on the belt. One that adjusts the length behind the seat where it connects to the car, and the other adjuster is the one that adjusts the belt around the driver.
These belts are a fixed length, so there is no adjustor for the length of the belt behind the seat. With some belts that 2nd adjustor ends up right up against the outside of the seat, and in a big impact the adjustor gets pinned up against the seat and allow the belt to loosen. The 2nd adjustor for adjusting the belt around the body is built into the tang that attaches to the camlock, so basically you always have the adjustors right in front of you as a driver and not down to the sides of your hips where it is hard to get leverage.
The lap belts are 2" wide, which in recent safety studies indicated it rode better on the hips than the traditional 3" ones. The shoulder harnesses come in either 3" for non Hans applications, or 2" upper portion, 3" lower portion for people using a Hans device.
Certified to SFI 16.5 spec, the belts are only good for 2 years, but SafeCraft will re-certify them the after the first 2 years for free.
There are loops sewn into each shoulder harness for attaching surgical tubing for those running enduros.
