Racing Beat Mazda Miata Sway Bar End Links 1999-2005 - Front

These Racing Beat Heavy Duty Sway Bar Links are designed specifically for the 1999-05 Miata (Front only). These end links provide the performance enthusiast the ability to set either front or rear sway bars to a neutral position while the chassis is at ride height to avoid pre-loading of the bar. The experienced enthusiast may wish to purposely pre-load the bar to create a specific handling characteristic to induce either a mild understeer or over steer condition. The CNC-machined aluminum end housings are fitted with urethane bushings to further reduce flexing - as compared to stock rubber bushing links. This kit contains the extra hardware that is necessary to connect these links to the sway bar and control arm bracket. Each set contains two (2) links to serve one (1) sway bar. A design change to the front lower control arm sway bar attachment points on the 1999 Miata chassis results in significant flexing of the lower control arm sway bar end link attachment bracket under hard cornering, possibly leading to premature failure of the bracket. The 90-97 Miata was designed with a U shaped end link attachment bracket on the lower control arm (LCA). The 1999 Miata was designed with an L shaped LCA attachment bracket.

Unfortunately, we do not believe that this L shaped bracket design will be adequate to handle the demands of a stiffer aftermarket sway bar. To remedy this shortcoming of the stock LCA bracket assemblies, we strongly recommend installation of the Lower Control Arm Reinforcement Flange Kit (Part No. 54111). While a minor welding effort is involved to install these reinforcement flanges, the benefits are worth the effort. After installation of these flanges, the stock end links cannot be reused.

Sway Bar End Links (Options):

1. The stock end links may be used with the Racing Beat Tubular Sway Bar if no modifications are made to the lower control arm end link attachment bracket.

2. The Racing Beat Tubular Sway Bar (or any other aftermarket sway bar) can be used with our Heavy Duty Sway Bar End Link Kit (Part No. 54201) if the modifications to the lower control arm attachment bracket have not been made. We strongly recommend the addition of the Lower Control Arm Reinforcement Flange Kit (Part No. 54111).

3. If the Lower Control Arm Reinforcement Flanges are added to the LCA attachment bracket, then our Heavy Duty Sway Bar End Link Kit (Part No. 154-201) MUST be used.
